The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.
Basically if you buy an electrical product from us, we will dispose of your old similar product free of charge. Just get the product to us and we'll do the rest.
Offer applies to like-for-like products only. Eg, buy an electric lawnmower and we'll dispose of your old electric lawnmower.

The Crossed out Wheelie Bin with Bar
The 'Crossed out Wheelie Bin' with Bar. All electrical and electronic equipment made after 13 August 2005 should display this symbol on the packaging or the product.
The symbol indicates that the product should not be disposed of with normal household waste but taken to a collection site for recycling.

This symbol is very similar to the one above but does not have a bar at the bottom of the bin. It was used on electrical and electronic equipment made before 13 August 2005. This symbol will be re-introduced in order to support the Battery Directive which will shortly become part of UK law.
The symbol indicates that the product should not be disposed of with normal household waste but taken to a collection site for recycling.
