The 3 hole (summer) slider plate is the more complex; it provides ultimate accuracy and is to be used with free flowing materials such as fertilizer or grass seed.
The Summer slider has Left and right adjuster sliders which provide the ability to balance the spread pattern on the left or right side. These two adjustable sliders manually move forwards and backwards to increase or decrease the size of the left and right drop holes.
This feature overcomes the issue of heavy large materials spreading more to one side than the other and likewise the reverse with fine and lightweight materials becoming dominant on the opposite side of the spread pattern.
Creating an even spread of material is very important when applying fertiliser. Too much to one side and you’ll have uneven grass growth, too little to one side and your grass will look thin and weak.
